Mom Syndrome: we all have it at some point in time. We spend everything on the kids, stop buying ourselves clothes, forget to take care of our social needs, don’t always get enough sleep, etc. It took me until our second child was a couple years old for me to realize that it was not selfish of me to take care of my needs. I liken it to the flying example where the flight attendant always tells you that you must always put on your air mask before putting on your child’s or you will not be any good to them. My “mommy air” needs quiet time, reading time, time with my friends, sexy lingerie that reminds me I am still a woman, etc. It is important to make sure that not all of our time is consumed with giving and nurturing or we will run out of margin and have nothing left to give. |

Did you know that most commercial divers normally rely on the Rolex Sea Dweller when diving to great depths. Rolex originally worked in conjunction with the French diving company Comex and together they developed the now famous Helium escape valve which is designed to stop a helium build up in the watch while under water and if it was not there the pressure would blow the glass ouf of the watch. The first batch of Rolex Sea Dwellers were launched in the late 1960's and the words Rolex Sea Dweller were printed in red text and these early versions are worth a pretty penny. The Sea Dweller was obviously a working watch and stayed with the diver on all of his dive expiditions. The final Rolex Sea Dweller was produced in 2009 and there really was hardly any difference between that and the original model. To us the Rolex Sea Dweller is the true essence of Rolex. |

The wedding symoblises a lifetime bond. Ours was an arranged marriage and the rituals in our customs starts a few days before the wedding, culminating in the exchange of wedding rings.
It is a very long-drawn-out affair. One month before the wedding on an auspicious day, a small ritual is held after which the wedding card is first sent to the deity. Subsequently, the card is sent to near and dear ones. The bride is then invited by relatives and neighbors to their house to have a lavish spread as she will be leaving her parent’s place after marriage. I still remember those days as I was forced to eat all types of special dishes. I was conscious that I will put on weight. On the wedding day, the bride is massaged with turmeric and takes the first shower with the water that is brought from the deity’s place. After that she is decked up with the bridal finery and brought to the marriage hall. |
