Did you know that most commercial divers normally rely on the Rolex Sea Dweller when diving to great depths. Rolex originally worked in conjunction with the French diving company Comex and together they developed the now famous Helium escape valve which is designed to stop a helium build up in the watch while under water and if it was not there the pressure would blow the glass ouf of the watch. The first batch of Rolex Sea Dwellers were launched in the late 1960's and the words Rolex Sea Dweller were printed in red text and these early versions are worth a pretty penny. The Sea Dweller was obviously a working watch and stayed with the diver on all of his dive expiditions. The final Rolex Sea Dweller was produced in 2009 and there really was hardly any difference between that and the original model. To us the Rolex Sea Dweller is the true essence of Rolex.
